As part of Pacific Pile & Marine's Phase 2, a new WordPress website was requested to permit the company to rent out their unused equipment to both employees and potentially customers. Instead of handling the rentals through the website, end-users were required to submit a Request Form to inquire about equipment they would like to rent.
Custom WordPress Development
This project started out as a PSD to WordPress (from Mock-ups) conversion, with a vast amount of consultation to guide the website in the right direction - to accomplish the client's goals. While mock-ups were produced, I was required to take on a bit more of a design role to help ensure the project was able to work effectively. Some of the plugins used came with highly effective styling, which ended up clashing with various styles in the mock-ups. Even though I still do not call myself a designer, I am very happy with the design decisions that were made to help advance the User Experience.
In order to produce the Rental System, I utilize WooCommerce for the basic functionality and then utilized YITH WooCommerce Request A Quote to override the checkout process for allowing off-site handling of the actual Rental Process. Given the varying equipment specs, I opted to use Elementor (a Page Builder Plugin) to permit non-technical administrators to easily add and edit Equipment Data. While the site is relatively small, many factors went into how the project was approached.
